Maya
“Once again, I am leaving home,
diving into the samsara, forgetting myself,
becoming mind.
Once again, I lose myself to find myself.
Once again,
the illusion will set in,
and many will appear where there is just one.
The divine game unfolds—
you, me, and your Lila,
the seer, the seen, and the act of seeing—will
split,
once again.
So, tell me,
just once again,
is this Your will or mine?”
A pearly laugh bounced in space,
creating infinite ripples in the fabric of time.
“Behold the power of maya,” It said.
“Already in the womb,
ignorance has drawn curtains.
The mind has risen,
naming you, naming Me.
Oh, forgetful one,
show me a you that is not Me!”
“Why, then,
once again,
I am being born in a world
that separates me from You?”
“Are you born in a world?
Or
is a world born in you?”
“Once again,
I only know the questions
that lie in the depths of darkness.
Once again,
I surrender to You.
Enlighten the ignorant.
Light up the path,
Just once again.”
“I am lost.
I am found.
Through the way that
I am.
So, listen Self—
of the three gateways,
doors that lead home.
When you’re awake,
be truly awake.
Close your eyes.
Gaze not at the vast web of the world.
Instead, look at the centre of the web.
There sits the spider that casts the web.
Look for Him,
look within.
When you dream,
observe the vast web of illusion,
shimmering, sparkling,
drawing you in.
Growing hope
in the embrace of compassion.
Mounting sweat
on the brows of effort.
Swelling tears
in the eyes of separation.
Spreading smile
on the lips of love.
And then—watch it all slip away,
like sand slithering through fingers.
Let your dreams show you
the fictionality of your reality.
When you sleep,
dive deep—very deep.
Go beyond thoughts,
cross-over feelings,
leave behind the world,
and all that is.
Abandon your knowledge,
your ego,
yourself.
Where nothing is—
I am.”
“Waking, dreaming, sleeping—
states of being,
of chaos and confusion.
Pulling and pushing,
raising and drowning me
in the ocean of creation and destruction.
Show me, my anchor,
just once again.”
“Look here,” It said.
“Your anchor is—Now.”
